We are a community that is passionate about preserving, celebrating and rebuilding indigenous African Architecture. We do this by creating a community that creates a space for indigenous communities to network through travel and exchange ideas about their indigenous architecture. We have also created an open forum to build a community where people can openly chat about different topics that are relevant to indigenous African architecture. In addition to this, we understand how valueable it is to invest in research, digitization of our indigenous knowledge and promote knowledge sharing, thats why we are investing in 4 key resource hubs.
We are building a comprehensive database of Indigenous African architecture from pre-colonial Africa to date. Our goal is to preserve the knowledge, inspire future generations to live sustainably and build on the research our ancestors started. Anyone can upload photos and contribute towards the database.
This is a database of skilled builders who specialize indigenous African architecture building style. Our goal is to connect these builders to prospect home owners looking to build their homes indeginously.
For many of us who have a great desire to start building their dream homes based on the foundation of our ancestors knowledge but don’t know where to start. We hope the design inspirations here will help you get started. We have a combination of paid and free resources for the community you can benefit from.
